Responsibilities

Purpose: The Diabetes Education Manager manages the nationally accredited diabetes education program in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism within the Department of Internal Medicine. Responsibilities include overseeing the success of the program; managing a team of Clinical Dietitians/Certified Diabetes Educators; ensuring team and program stay up-to-date on accreditation and other clinical requirements; and serving as the lead diabetes clinician.

 

  • Develop and maintain an overall organizational structure to accomplish the goals of the diabetes education program, including designing program goals, evaluating program curriculum, and overseeing clinic and patient satisfaction and outcomes
  • Manage assigned staff, including hiring, training, supervising, employee engagement, performance management, scheduling, and approving payroll.
  • Support quality program standards and ensures compliance with credentialing programs
  • Serve as lead diabetes clinician, providing clinical advice to patients, educators, and physicians regarding insulin adjustments, insulin therapy, blood glucose monitoring data and devices, blood pressure, and cholesterol levels
  • Travel to satellite locations and clinic sites may be necessary to perform job duties.
  • Other duties or special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Registered Dietitian with current dietitian licensure in the State of Ohio or Registered Nurse with current Ohio Registered Nurse license
  • Current Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist credential (CDCES) or obtain CDCES credential within 6 months of hire.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a diabetes specialty.
  • Familiarity with CDE and ADA credentialing requirements.

Preferences:

  • Previous supervisory experience.

Pay Range

USD $76,353.00 - USD $114,530.00 /Yr.
