Purpose: The supervisor assists in the management of all Transcription, Switchboard and Afterhours operations. The Supervisor has primary responsibility for the daily management of all transcription, switchboard and afterhours processes. This includes direction of staff in programmatic operations needed to assure compliance with quality standards and regulations established by the Medical Center. Customer satisfaction includes maintaining excellent customer service measured through job performance and department service levels. The supervisor will also assist in the development of job descriptions, postings, and hiring, as well as oversee the orientation and training of new staff assuring compliance with departmental policies and operations. They will interact with various departments to ensure expectations are defined and met. The supervisor will assist with managing and staffing a 24/7 shop (Switchboard & Afterhours). This includes being available as first line of contact during the weekday nights and the second line of contact on the weekends to assist with staffing issues or escalated issues from operators.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Requirements: Associate degree in business administration or healthcare field or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Demonstrated ability to lead others either formally or informally. Previous experience working in a Call Center environment and or with Electronic Medical Records preferred but not required. Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work in self-directed manner while interacting with patients, physicians and all medical center faculty and staff. Ability to communicate and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills required.
Preferences: Familiarity with OSUWMC and its entities preferred
