Ohio State University Physicians, Inc. is the medical group managing The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center’s outpatient physician clinics. Due to our continued growth to provide health care to the Columbus area we are currently expanding our Human Resources team and seeking to add a Generalist.

Responsibilities

Administrative Support:

  • Provide support to the HR department in carrying out various human resources programs, projects and procedures.
  • Responds to general inquiries from managers, employees and stakeholders related to all aspects of the HR function, serving as a direct customer service professional for employee needs.
  • Collaborate with senior generalists to provide professional consultation for requests for information on policy interpretation, employee relations and disciplinary matters.
  • Monitor the general email inbox, voice messages and faxes and distributes or responds accordingly within a timely manner, escalating complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Maintains employee records ensuring completion and accuracy of detail such as employee information, I-9s, job classification, pay rates, organizational structure and other key items.
  • Conduct periodic audits of human resource activities to ensure compliance with Employment Law as well as internal policies and procedures. Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Support the department in the facilitation of annual processes such as the end of year closing, engagement surveys, performance reviews and other routine activities.

 

 Employee Relations:

  • Facilitate communication among employees and management.
  • Collaborate with senior generalists to coach management on career development, engagement, problem solving, dispute resolution, regulatory compliance and litigation avoidance.
  • Draft corrective actions for review by the senior generalist. Review attendance disciplinary actions and partner with managers for delivery.
  • Monitor, track and report on employee relations activities.
  • Participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Conduct investigatory intakes, taking witness statements, researching policy, reviewing historical records and handing off to the senior generalist for review and completion.
  • Support the senior generalists with preparing and submit unemployment compensation responses. Manage fraudulent claims. Participates in disputes and hearings.

 Compensation and Benefits:

  • Under direction of the senior generalist, conduct standard compensation reviews, recommends salary adjustments and starting rates of pay in line with standard department practices.
  • Support the generalists in the creation management and distribution of employment letters such as market adjustments, merit and equity reviews.

 Training and Development:

  • Support the department in identifying employee training needs. Assist senior generalists in coordinating the design and delivery of training programs.
  • Support the senior generalists in execution of career development initiatives, mentorship programs, and succession planning strategies to enhance employee skills and promote professional growth.
  • Facilitate and lead orientations for staff and new management.

  Employee Engagement and Retention:

  • Maintain and analyze turnover data and reporting. Identifying trends and making recommendations based on HR Metrics to increase retention.
  • Facilitate staff satisfaction surveys and feedback sessions.
  • Participate and encourage employee engagement activities.
  • Conduct exit interview and debrief senior generalists and/or leadership on outcomes.
  • Prepare, manage and execute employee communication plans.

Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor's degree
  • A minimum of one year of experience in Human Resources or related area or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with Human Resources Information & Payroll System. Working knowledge and application of HR law, policies, processes, metrics and supporting HR systems, including but not exclusive to HR.
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-C/SHRM-SCP certification preferred.

Pay Range

USD $23.37 - USD $35.06 /Hr.
