Ohio State University Physicians, Inc. is the medical group managing The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center’s outpatient physician clinics. OSU Physicians is seeking a highly collaborative and innovative Human Resources Manager to join our dynamic HR department. Responsibilities

About the HR Manager

This role will be responsible for implementing, and managing initiatives that enhance the overall employee experience throughout their lifecycle at the organization. This role will focus on improving employee engagement, culture, and retention strategies to ensure a positive and productive work environment. The ideal candidate is passionate about people, has a strong background in HR, and is skilled at developing programs that foster employee satisfaction and success.

 

Leadership:

  • Management and oversight of HR Generalist team in a shared service model for all areas of human resources.
  • Ensures department and organizational compliance with all employment laws, conducting audits and maintaining a working knowledge of all federal, state and local labor laws. 
  • Participates in planning, budgeting and forecasting HR and organizational needs.  Maintains awareness of vendor plan changes and their potential impact to employees.
  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
  • Ensures department practices are in compliance with established policies, procedures and Employment Law by conducting periodic audits of human resource activities.

 

Employee Engagement & Culture:

  • Oversees employee engagement surveys and interviews, analyzing feedback, identifying trends and recommend actions to address root causes.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve employee retention and engagement through recognition programs, career development opportunities and collaboration with recruiting, total rewards and learning and development teams.
  • Oversee the onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Analyze turnover data, identifying trends and preparing recommendations and strategies. 
  • Champion initiatives to build and maintain a strong, inclusive, and positive workplace culture that aligns with the company’s values.

 

Employee Relations and Performance Management:

  • Oversees employee relations issues, ensuring thorough investigations, documentation of findings, prompt and appropriate actions, and the resolution of grievances, and concerns are being completed consistently across all business lines of the organization.
  • Acts as first point of contact for escalated employee relations and engagement concerns from all levels of the organization.
  • Manage the organization’s disciplinary procedures, ensuring consistency, fairness, and adherence to company policies and legal regulations.
  • Oversee the unemployment claim process, ensuring the organization is appropriately reporting and mitigating risk through effective performance management and termination processes.

Workforce Planning:

  • Supports the generalists in collaborating with leaders to support the growth and development of their teams, ensuring planning is in alignment with the organization’s objectives. Provides guidance and feedback on leadership structure, career progression, job development and organization.

 

Qualifications

Requirements:  

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field
  • 3-7 years of experience in Human Resource, with a focus on employee relations, engagement, workforce planning or similar areas.  
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, disciplinary procedures, and workforce planning methodologies.

Preferences:   

  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP (PHR or SPHR equivalent) certification preferred. 
  • Prior experience in a leadership role.

 

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally. Should demonstrate strong critical thinking skills, good judgment and utilize strategic thinking. Pay Range

USD $86,131.87 - USD $129,197.80 /Yr.
