Responsibilities

Purpose:  Serves as a top-level application expert and functional leader for strategic/complex/ initiatives and ensures the success of enterprise-level application solutions. Has primary responsibility for architecting solutions for a variety of enterprise application initiatives and aligning these solutions with OSU Physician’s overall administrative mission and direction. Ensures collaboration with Medical Center counterparts, as applicable, so initiatives are properly communicated and aligned with the enterprise, where necessary.

 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Tests new software and applications for design, usability and implementation methodology, and provides recommendations to customers
  • Maintains ongoing awareness of information security threats, and adheres to best practice information security controls and programming techniques
  • Works with customers, vendors, and internal OSUP contacts to design, specify, write, and implement software. Maintains awareness of software and hardware upgrades and enhancements to maximize programming efficiency.
  • Writes, distributes, and maintains documentation for products created during work.
  • Monitors system problem and issue logs for problems, issues and concerns reported by users that may be resolved through programming enhancements; performs system analysis to identify the causes and provide effective resolutions.
  • Escalates and monitors problems to vendor support system(s) when necessary. Documents and organizes resolutions for future reference.
  • Works within the scope and license of software, as provided by the vendor.
  • Works closely with Manager, peers, and designated contacts or committees during special projects and implementations to identify and integrate solutions produced with programming tools.
  • Develops ad-hoc reports.
  • Travel to satellite locations and clinic sites may be necessary to perform job duties
  • Ability to perform functions using job-related software and systems.
  • Attendance, promptness, professionalism, the ability to pay attention to detail, cooperativeness with co-workers and supervisors, and politeness to customers, vendors, and patients.
  • Other duties or special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

RequirementsBachelor’s degree in computer science or other technical field or equivalent amount of schooling and work experience.   Minimum of four years of prior experience fourth-generation programming languages and/or experience with machine learning.  Ability to realize the "Global" outcome or as part of a team, work creatively and be well organized.  Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, under specific deadlines. Experience working in a team environment with a diverse group of employees, managers, and outside parties.

 

Preferences:  Experience with healthcare applications, including medical billing or scheduling software. Master’s degree in computer science or a related field.

Pay Range

USD $92,881.42 - USD $154,802.35 /Yr.
