Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities: 

 

  • Provide licensed acupuncture services including patient examinations, evaluations, and treatments.
  • Document services accurately in the electronic health record.
  • Respond to patient messages promptly.
  • Collaborate with other clinicians and trainees
  • Participate in Provider Collaboration and monthly clinician meetings.
  • Represent the company by providing professional talks and presentations regionally and nationally.
  • Precept medical students, residents, and other trainees.
  • Advise on acupuncture-related policies, procedures, and equipment.
  • Participate in community engagement activities and professional networking.

 

PROVIDES DIRECT AND INDIRECT PATIENT CARE

  • Conduct comprehensive acupuncture management (initial evaluations, medical histories, physical exams, diagnostic testing, and treatment plans).
  • Collaborate with patients’ primary care providers and specialists as needed.
  • Provide patient follow-up care and adhere to OSU Integrative Health Clinic’s medical policies.
  • Accurately document patient information in office charts and billing records.
  • Respond promptly to patient calls and MyChart inquiries.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities with the clinic team.

EDUCATION, RESEARCH, COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT, AND ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Attend Medical/Clinical directors meetings, CIH administrative/staff meetings, and Provider Collaboration meetings.
  • Participate in the evaluation of practice fee structures, financial collection policies, and patient service quality.
  • Precept trainees (medical students, residents, etc.) in acupuncture.
  • Advise on acupuncture-related policies and procedures.
  • Represent the company at regional and national meetings.
  • Participate in acupuncture-related research and complete required online training.

Qualifications

Requirements:  Board certification as a licensed acupuncturist or equivalent experience and training in an acupuncture medical specialty from an ACAOM-accredited program. • State of Ohio licensure required. • Minimum of two years' experience in patient care. • Maintain licensure and Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits. • Knowledge of patient care issues, quality improvement, cost reduction, and current policies/procedures/protocols.

Preferences:  Experience in precepting medical students, residents, or other trainees. Knowledge of acupuncture-related research practices. Familiarity with the policies and procedures related to acupuncture and acupressure.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • In-depth knowledge of acupuncture techniques and treatments.
  • Ability to evaluate, diagnose, and create treatment plans for patients.
  • Strong communication skills for both patient interactions and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) for documentation.
  • Knowledge of quality improvement practices and patient care delivery.

Pay Range

USD $69,442.95 - USD $104,164.43 /Yr.
