Responsibilities

OSU Physicians is committed to improving access and great service to our customers. The Scheduling Manager functions as an integral member of the leadership team to reflect a culture of cooperation, enthusiasm, and mutual respect. This position ensures access to OSUWMC physicians and services and coordinate/supports all functions of service delivery and integrated access services and operations for OSUWMC. In addition, this leader will also have responsibility ensuring team management, strategic relationships with partners and proper data collection/support for all service lines and respective employees.  Some duties and responsibilities include:


• Providing overall leadership of multiple teams.
• Oversight of the onboarding, training, and development of the Supervisor, Lead Scheduler and staff.
• Conducting regular meetings with Supervisors regarding their work performance
• Direction of the staff in programmatic operations needed to ensure accurate scheduling and communication essential to achieving a great patient experience
• Direct ownership of decision tree Visio for all scheduling workflows
• Assist in the development and maintenance of job descriptions, posting and hiring of new employees

• Responsible for employee retention and setting/maintaining team centric culture and morale
• Administration of progressive corrective action when necessary
• Ongoing maintenance of timekeeping for all agents including payroll approvals, time off request, adjustments to timecards
• Building and maintenance of both schedules and budgets for the pod
• Forecast and appropriate workforce scheduling oversight for the pod

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience leading a team in a patient access services environment required.
• Experience interfacing with clinicians and other health care professionals required.
• Demonstrated experience of successful leadership and management of large teams.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (including Visio)

 

Preferences:
• Advanced Degree preferred
• Epic systems (scheduling) experience is highly preferred.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Computer/technology proficiency and knowledge of scheduling applications, care lifecycle, and patient management systems required.
• Strong verbal, written and presentation skills are a key requirement for this role.
• Sense of professionalism, relationship building, and ability to establish trust and cooperation between multiple departments/entities throughout the OSU Wexner Medical Center will be a necessity as a Manager at OSUWMC.

Pay Range

USD $64,708.21 - USD $97,062.30 /Yr.
