Responsibilities

The Compensation Specialist play a vital role in the compensation plan administration across the organization. 

 

  • Identify, recommend, and design the implementation and administration of compensation programs, policies and procedures to align with the organization's goals and competitive practices.
  • Design and implement creative solutions to specific compensation-related programs, bonus plans, career ladders, retention and incentive plans.
  • Monitor and review the effectiveness of current compensation policies, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Consult with legal resources to provide guidance on compensation related compliance issues.
  • Participate in market surveys, gathering data, analyzing results and making market recommendations. Seek out new surveys to participate in to ensure market competitiveness.
  • Partner with HR team to prepare and maintain job descriptions, analyze jobs and their respective duties to determine classification as exempt or nonexempt and appropriate salary range. Benchmark jobs against survey data and other market data to determine competitive compensation ranges for each position.
  • Utilize audits, reports and analysis to ensure compensation programs are administered in alignment with company policies, pay plans are accurate and consistent, and in compliance with applicable federal and state regulations.
  • Act as a resource on complex issues and questions as they arise and serves in an advisory capacity on pay, classification of positions, hiring salaries and the proper application of policies.
  • Support the development and delivery of ongoing compensation-related education and training for leadership.
  • Manage and oversee the annual merit program and OSUP pay programs.
  • Analyze comp and position data, preparing reports, budgets, models and identifying trends and patterns. 

Qualifications

Must have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business, human resources or related field and previous experience in employee compensation. SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) and certified compensation professional credentials preferred.

 

    • Should have strong analytical skills and the ability to report, analyze and interpret data. 
    • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft products, including Excel.
    • Excellent time management skills and ability to plan and set priorities.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong interpersonal skills in communicating with senior management.

Pay Range

USD $66,000.00 - USD $99,000.00 /Yr.
