OSU Physicians is currently seeking a Clinical Quality Registered Nurse. 

 

The Clinical Quality Registered Nurse (RN) plays a pivotal role in fostering a culture of excellence and safety within the ambulatory care environment. This position is responsible for establishing, monitoring, and sustaining adherence to clinical and regulatory standards to ensure compliance with internal policies and external requirements.

Responsibilities

Purpose: In collaboration with the Chief Ambulatory Quality Officer and interdisciplinary clinical teams, the Clinical Quality RN leads initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and promoting a safe, high-quality care experience. This includes conducting trend analyses of adverse event reports, evaluating clinical performance data, and integrating evidence-based quality improvement strategies into daily practice.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

1. Quality & Safety Leadership

  • Champion High Reliability Organization (HRO) principles to proactively mitigate risk and drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead safety and quality initiatives, including High Reliability Rounding and evidence-based practice integration.
  • Collaborate with nursing leadership to align clinical quality goals with organizational priorities.

2. Evidence-Based Practice & Clinical Excellence

  • Mentor staff in evidence-based decision-making and lead practice changes to improve patient care.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate programs focused on outcomes, service operations, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Sustain a culture of evidence-based practice through internal research and continuous learning.

3. Data-Driven Improvement

  • Oversee data analysis and reporting to enhance clinical outcomes and resource management.
  • Identify trends, develop performance metrics, and generate actionable insights for quality improvement.
  • Utilize tools like DMAIC and graphical software to support continuous improvement initiatives.

4. Communication & Collaboration

  • Serve as a role model and mentor, fostering a culture of accountability, flexibility, and collaboration.
  • Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, including leadership, staff, and physicians.
  • Participate in and lead committees, task forces, and quality-related workgroups.

5. Compliance & Event Management

  • Monitor clinical indicators and assure alignment with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee event reporting processes and lead investigations into sentinel events and performance gaps.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the organization.

Qualifications

Requirements:

· Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.

· Current Ohio Registered Nurse license.

· CPR/BLS certified.

· Experience in performing clinical and medical procedures.

 

Preferences:

· Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited nursing program

· Three or more years of nursing experience in an outpatient setting.

· Experience in quality reviews.

· Lean Six Sigma certification.

Pay Range

USD $31.73 - USD $47.60 /Hr.
