The HR Generalist II provides comprehensive support across key HR functions including administration, recruitment, employee relations, compensation, benefits, training, and strategic workforce planning. This role ensures compliance with employment laws and internal policies while fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Responsibilities

Purpose:
The human resources (HR) generalist role within an organization serves a crucial purpose in managing and supporting the organization's human capital. The primary objective of an HR generalist is to ensure that the organization's human resources policies, procedures, and programs align with its overall strategic goals and objectives. Generalists act as an internal consultant by analyzing and recommending solutions to human resource issues and serves as a facilitator in change management within a fast-paced, dynamic healthcare environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

Administrative Support

  • Maintain employee records and HRIS data (Kronos), ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Conduct audits to ensure compliance with employment laws and internal policies.
  • Provide daily support to employees and managers, addressing concerns and promoting engagement.

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Manage job postings, resume screening, interviews, and selection processes.
  • Train and advise managers on recruitment and onboarding best practices.
  • Resolve hiring delays and respond to applicant and employee inquiries.

Employee Relations

  • Mediate conflicts, handle grievances, and support a positive work environment.
  • Coach managers on dispute resolution, compliance, and disciplinary actions.
  • Conduct investigations and recommend outcomes; participate in disciplinary meetings and terminations.
  • Manage unemployment claims and hearings.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Conduct salary reviews and recommend pay adjustments.
  • Support benefit programs including health, disability, and retirement plans.
  • Guide managers and staff on FMLA, ADA, and disability processes.
  • Partner with Leave Administrator on extended leaves and return-to-work plans.

Training & Development

  • Identify training needs and coordinate programs.
  • Lead orientations and deliver HR-related training sessions.
  • Support career development, upskilling, and succession planning.

Employee Engagement & Retention

  • Implement initiatives to enhance job satisfaction and work-life balance.
  • Analyze HR metrics and recommend improvements.
  • Facilitate surveys and feedback sessions; support engagement activities.

Strategic HR & Workforce Planning

  • Advise on organizational changes, staffing strategies, and training initiatives.
  • Contribute to HR policy development and implementation.
  • Lead cross-functional projects and participate in departmental planning.

General Expectations

  • Stay current on employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Prepare reports and maintain accurate records.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, attention to detail, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree
  • A minimum of two years of experience in Human Resources or related area or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with Human Resources Information & Payroll System. Working knowledge and application of HR law, policies, processes, metrics and supporting HR systems, including but not exclusive to HR.
  • Analytical ability to gather and interpret data and develop, recommend, and implement solutions.
    Experience working with HRIS systems.

 

Preferences:

  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-C / SHRM-SCP certification.
  • Prior HR Generalist experience.

Pay Range

USD $58,849.00 - USD $88,274.00 /Yr.
