Responsibilities

Purpose:   

Performs a wide variety of electroneurodiagnostic procedures on patients with suspect neurologic injury and treatment of acute and chronic diseases; promote disease prevention and wellness for optimum health; and apply administration and management skills to support health care systems in a variety of settings. Prepares patients for testing, performs testing and collects information pertinent to the interpretation of test results in EEG, Electromyography (EMG), Autonomics, Epilepsy Monitory (EMU) and Evoked Potentials (EP).  

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Set up and prepares patient for tests including neurological, ontological and oculomotor neurophysiological testing, and vestibular evoked potential testing. 
  • Perform specialized technical work for one or more of the following procedures standard and specialized EEGs, epilepsy monitoring, sleep studies, nerve conduction, and evoked potential procedures, as well as additional physiologic phenomena and other neurodiagnostic testing, appropriate to the patient's age and according to departmental policies and procedures. 
  • Must be able to differentiate the quality of procedure and patient cooperation for interpretive analysis.  
  • Recognize, document and report critical tests results to the designated interpreting physician.  
  • Perform scoring and long-term monitoring review as requested 
  • Maintain equipment in good working order for daily testing. Clean, calibrate and process neurophysiology equipment. Update analysis software with normative values as they become availableWork with equipment vendors to maintain and upgrade hardware/software to latest versions. 
  • Ensure procedures are appropriately logged, charted and distributed to the interpreting physician. Complete necessary documentation and billing.  
  • Document pertinent patient medical history, including current medications and circumstances surrounding reported symptoms. 
  • Explain test procedures to the patient before the study to reassure and calm the patient, and provide for the patient’s psychological needs while in the laboratory to obtain quality test results. 
  • Disinfect testing room, equipment, and supplies in accordance with departmental/facility infection control policies. 
  • Meet regularly with the Medical Director to discuss areas of quality improvement. 
  • Ability to perform functions using job-related software and systems. 
  • Travel may be required to accommodate staffing levels at other clinical facilities. 
  • Attendance, promptness, professionalism, the ability to pay attention to detail, cooperativeness with co-workers and supervisors, and politeness to customers, vendors, and patients. 
  • Other duties or special projects as assigned. 

Qualifications

Requirements   

Possess a minimum of a HS Diploma or equivalent along and meet the following criteria:   

 

  • Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.   
  • 1 year of relevant experience. 

Pay Range

USD $26.24 - USD $39.36 /Hr.
