The Division of Rehabilitation Psychology in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at The Ohio State University evaluates adult patients with cognitive concerns. We are seeking to hire a part-time psychometrist with a strong background and/or keen interest in working with adult patients with acquired cognitive and physical disabilities from neurologic conditions (e.g. traumatic brain injury, stroke).

Responsibilities

 

The psychometrist will perform a variety of duties, including the administration and scoring of psychological/neuropsychological tests in accordance with clearly defined procedures under the clinical direction of a neuropsychologist. Additional duties include but are not limited to organization and maintenance of test supplies and procedure manuals as well as providing support for trainees (graduate students, interns, fellows) working in our department. 

 

  • Administers, scores and records data from an extensive neuropsychological test battery administered to adult outpatients and (infrequently) inpatients.
  • Closely works with neuropsychologists regarding expectations for each patient’s assessment as different patients have different needs.
  • Appropriately documents test data in patient records and/or Excel files. Ensures follow up where appropriate.
  • Performs basic administrative duties, including maintenance of clinic space, monitoring and ordering test supplies and equipment when appropriate, ordering office supplies when appropriate.
  • Travel to satellite locations and clinic sites may be necessary to perform job duties.
  • Ability to perform functions using job-related software and systems.
  • Attendance, promptness, professionalism, the ability to pay attention to detail, cooperativeness with co-workers and supervisors, and politeness to customers, vendors, and patients.
  • Other duties or special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s Level Degree with a major in psychology or related field (e.g. neuroscience) is required.
  • The ideal candidate would possess a minimum of one (1) year of experience administering psychological/neuropsychological tests as a psychometrist, though we are willing to train someone who is new to the field and motivated, eager to learn, detail-oriented, and organized.”

Pay Range

USD $20.63 - USD $30.94 /Hr.
