Responsibilities

Outpatient Patient Care (80%)

  • Conduct comprehensive history and physical examinations for new and returning Aortic Center Clinic patients
  • Establish preliminary diagnoses and initiate appropriate diagnostic workup, including laboratory and imaging studies
  • Review and assess patient medications and prescribe treatments as indicated
  • Develop, implement, and manage patient care plans in alignment with clinical protocols
  • Review pre-visit imaging (e.g., CT scans and other diagnostic studies) to ensure visit appropriateness
  • Interpret imaging results, communicate abnormalities to the care team, and initiate necessary interventions
  • Provide education and counseling to patients, including surgical candidates
  • Maintain accountability for patient care decisions, delegation of tasks, and accurate medical record documentation
  • Coordinate post-visit care, including follow-up phone calls, scheduling additional testing, and physician referrals
  • Partner with physicians, nursing program coordinators, and staff to optimize care coordination and clinic workflows
  • Ensure compliance with clinical best practices and institutional policies
  • Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with multidisciplinary stakeholders
  • Support the implementation of new clinic workflows in collaboration with Ross Ambulatory Care Center leadership

Program Coordination (10%)

  • Screen clinic schedules for eligibility and enrollment opportunities in clinical trials
  • Collaborate with clinical trial coordinators to support patient education and trial participation
  • Participate in regular meetings with Ross ACC leadership
  • Partner with OSUWMC Regional Outreach teams and service line leadership to align Aortic Center services across the enterprise
  • Collaborate with OSUWMC Marketing teams to promote program services, initiatives, and brand awareness

Database Management & Quality Improvement (5%)

  • Maintain and oversee the Aortic Center Registry database
  • Enter post-operative and surveillance data accurately and timely
  • Utilize registry data to identify care improvement opportunities
  • Implement and monitor quality measures within clinical workflows

Inpatient Clinical Care Coordination (5%)

  • Assist with clinical trial consent processes
  • Ensure appropriate post-operative follow-up and continuity of care
  • Partner with inpatient teams to support quality improvement initiatives led by the Aortic Center

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Education & Licensure

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), or Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies
  • Active APRN license with NP certification or PA-C certification
  • Current ACLS certification

Experience

  • Minimum of 0–2 years clinical experience in cardiology, vascular surgery, or related specialty
  • Five (5) years of relevant experience preferred
  • Demonstrated skills in leadership, communication, organization, and care coordination
  • Experience with performance improvement and total quality management principles preferred

Pay Range

USD $103,725.00 - USD $165,038.00 /Yr.
