Opportunity Overview

Ohio State University Physicians (OSUP) is seeking a Remote Thoracic Radiologist to join the rapidly expanding Department of Radiology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. This position offers the opportunity to work remotely while contributing to one of the nation’s leading radiology programs.

The Department of Radiology is experiencing significant growth across its clinical, educational, and research missions, positioning Ohio State as a national leader in imaging innovation and care delivery. A key pillar of this growth is the Center for Imaging Excellence (CIE), which brings together multidisciplinary teams to accelerate translational research across MRI, CT, and PET imaging.

Ohio State is also advancing the future of imaging through:

  • A strong emphasis on artificial intelligence, supported by Ohio State’s designation as an ACR Recognized Center for Healthcare-AI (ARCH-AI)
  • Continued investment in theranostics and advanced imaging technologies
  • Ongoing renovations to support state-of-the-art infrastructure and collaborative team science

Clinical Environment

Clinically, the Department of Radiology is expanding to meet growing patient demand and to support the Wexner Medical Center’s Impact 2035 strategic vision. Major investments include:

  • A newly opened 820 bed inpatient hospital tower
  • A new Biomedical Research Tower
  • The Interdisciplinary Health Sciences Center
  • Expansion of ambulatory care centers in New Albany, Dublin, and Powell, in addition to established imaging sites throughout central Ohio

These investments enhance access, capacity, and the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered imaging services.

Division of Thoracic Radiology

The Division of Thoracic Imaging focuses on all aspects of Thoracic imaging, in particular, oncology, interstitial lung disease and in-patient critical care.  By joining our faculty, you will have excellent opportunities for advancement, while working with an exceptional cadre of multidisciplinary providers.   Physicians are supported by many outstanding clinical, research, and educational resources in the department and organization, including substantial, dedicated expertise in imaging technology innovation, artificial intelligence, and health services research.

  • Duties and Responsibilities

    • Plain film radiography and CT interpretation. No cardiac or Aortic CTA responsibilities.
    • Contributes to the day-to-day clinical operations of the Thoracic Imaging Division of the Department of Radiology:
      • Provides high-quality patient care as related to the Thoracic Service.
      • Contributes to clinical and imaging operations as related to the Thoracic Service.

Required Qualifications

  • M.D., D.O, or foreign equivalent
  • Board eligible or board certified in Radiology (ABR, ABOR)
  • Completion of Subspecialty fellowship in Thoracic Imaging by time of appointment
  • Must possess or be eligible for licensure in the State of Ohio
  • Remote opportunities are available to candidates residing in all US states, with the exception of Ohio
