CAST stands for The Center for Autism Services and Transition https://wexnermedical.osu.edu/primary-care/cast
CAST is a primary care based program embedded in (currently 4) OSU GIM practices. CAST provides care autism-informed for almost 1000 autistic adults with a goal of reducing barriers to care and improving quality fo care for this often underserved population. Autistic adults experience much higher rates of mental and behavioral health conditions than the general population. Because of that, a core approach of CAST has always been collaboration and integration psychiatric care. Currently, our demand for psychiatric care exceeds the our capacity. We are seeking a psychiatric APP to help serve this population. Our team includes 12 primary care providers, 1 psychiatrist, 1 psychotherapist, a medical social worker, and an RN care coordinator. All patients seen by the psychiatric APP would be established with a PCP as part of the CAST program.
