Purpose: Under the direction of an OB/GYN Physician, the Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner collaborates with physicians to provide comprehensive assessment, treatment, evaluation, education, counseling, and care coordination for patients in an outpatient women’s health setting. Services include care during acute and chronic phases of health conditions, referral to appropriate healthcare providers and community resources, and coordination of ongoing patient care.
About the Role
- Perform comprehensive health histories and physical examinations for new and established patients.
- Assess, diagnose, and manage women’s health concerns across the lifespan, including preventive, gynecologic, reproductive, and menopausal care.
- Order and interpret appropriate laboratory tests, diagnostic studies, and screenings.
- Collaborate with OB/GYN physicians to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Conduct comprehensive and episodic health assessments and develop patient-centered care plans.
- Review, prescribe, and manage medications in accordance with Ohio licensure and prescriptive authority guidelines.
- Provide patient education regarding preventive care, treatment options, disease management, reproductive health, and wellness strategies.
- Evaluate patient outcomes and modify treatment plans as clinically indicated.
- Triage patient phone calls, portal messages, and clinical concerns, ensuring timely follow-up and coordination of care.
- Facilitate referrals to specialists, community resources, and other healthcare providers as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Support quality, safety, infection prevention, and patient satisfaction initiatives within the practice.
